Accessibility compliance, without the cloud

DocWright fixes DOCX, PPTX, and PDF accessibility issues on campus — and scores documents for ALLY, Canvas, and Moodle — without a single file leaving your network.

What it fixes

Every accessibility issue your LMS checker flags

DocWright automates the fixes that take faculty hours — and does it in a format your existing LMS can score immediately.

LMS accessibility scoring
Fixes document structure so files pass ALLY, Canvas Accessibility Checker, and Moodle accessibility reports automatically — no manual remediation workflow required.
ALLY Canvas Moodle Blackboard
AI-generated image descriptions
Blank or missing alt text is the most common ALLY failure. DocWright sends images to Claude Vision and writes meaningful, contextual descriptions directly into the file — screen-reader-ready.
Equation accessibility
Math and science faculty can now submit DOCX and PDF files with equations that ALLY can actually read. DocWright renders each equation visually, generates a spoken-math description, and injects it into the accessibility tree.
Runs 100% locally — no cloud dependency
DocWright is a Windows desktop application. Faculty documents are processed on campus hardware and never transmitted to an external server. Meets FERPA and institutional data governance requirements out of the box.
DOCX, PPTX, and PDF support
All three file types faculty use most. DocWright fixes document titles, language attributes, heading structure, color contrast, tagged PDF structure, and image alt text — in a single drag-and-drop step.
Deployable via SCCM or manual install
A self-contained Windows executable with bundled Python runtime and LibreOffice. No system-level dependencies. Ships with an IT deployment guide, a desktop shortcut batch file, and silent install support.
Workflow

From upload to ALLY-compliant in under a minute

Designed so faculty with no accessibility training can remediate their own files — and IT never has to get involved.

Step 01
Faculty drags in a file
Drop a DOCX, PPTX, or PDF into the browser window served locally on port 8742. No login, no upload to an external server.
Step 02
DocWright scans and fixes
Automatically detects and remediates document structure, language, heading hierarchy, color contrast, alt text, and tagged PDF structure.
Step 03
AI describes images and equations
For images and math equations, Claude Vision generates contextual descriptions and writes them into the file's accessibility tree — no copy-paste required.
Step 04
Download and upload to LMS
Faculty download the remediated file and upload it to Canvas, Blackboard, or Moodle. ALLY scores it immediately — typically hitting 100%.

Zero data exposure. By architecture, not policy.

Most accessibility tools process files through a cloud server. DocWright runs entirely on campus — the application, the processing engine, and the output all stay on the faculty member's machine.

  • No document content transmitted to external servers during processing
  • FERPA-compatible by design — files never leave your network perimeter
  • API key encrypted at rest on your machine, not stored in a cloud account
  • Deployable behind your institutional firewall — no outbound ports required for core features
